I’m Federico, people nowadays call me Astra.
I was born and raised in Rome, Italy, and now living in Toronto, Canada, I’ve been Producing original music and DJ’ing since 2011 at the age of 13. Undergoing five different artist projects in those 14 years (Virtua, LXV, Love X Violence, Silent Rampage, Astra). I have produced a large amount of genres and styles since then, music has changed a lot, but the methods and skills required have stayed similar.
My main artist projects have focused on Big Room House, Progressive House, Trap, Hardstyle, Trance, Tech House and most recently my Astra project which I have mantled for 5 years now focusing on Techno. I have performed and DJ’d in all of these styles, most recently gaining success through my Peak-Time Techno performances.
In the recent years I have now performed direct support DJ sets for Space 92, Layton Giordani, Maddix, Bart Skils, Wehbba, T78, Alex Stein, Mha Iri, Luigi Madonna, Joyhauser, NoNameLeft and Township Rebellion. I have DJ’d in all of Toronto’s top venues and events such as Electric Island, CODA, DPRTMNT, Nomad, Vertigo, Hotel X, Comfort Zone, and various Warehouse raves.
I have found a great passion for speaking and sharing knowledge in music, and recently found that our scene and music landscape is missing people and help like this. I find a lot of artists are stuck in the middle of the road creatively, I have had success aiding my friends and other artists in my scene unlock their potential further.
There is already a lot of help online on how to recreate sounds, post content, how to distribute your music….a lot of good tips that while very important will not be enough to break out of the same perceived box as everyone else.
Finding your creativity and your artist project, what makes you different from the rest is the goal I wish to help you achieve.
